Understanding Your Rising, Sun and Moon Signs

Bring a notebook and pen and join Deidra D’Amico for this 3-part astrology workshop. Week 1 is Nov. 3 and will include discussion on the meaning of the Sun in your chart. Week 2 is Nov. 10th and will be on the significance of the Moon. Week 3 is Nov. 17 and will cover the importance of your Rising. There is a suggested love offering of $5 per session, but this is not required to attend.
In astrology, the sun, moon, and rising signs are the three main components of a person’s astrological chart, known as the “Big Three”. Each sign represents a different aspect of a person’s personality, and together they are said to provide a comprehensive picture of someone’s nature:

Sun sign
Represents a person’s core identity, motivations, and life’s purpose. It’s based on the position of the sun in the zodiac at the time of birth.

Moon sign
Represents a person’s emotional needs, instincts, and inner self. It’s based on the position of the moon in the zodiac at the time of birth.

Rising signAlso known as the ascendant, this sign represents a person’s outward persona, how they present themselves to the world, and how others perceive them. It’s based on the position of the zodiac on the eastern horizon at the time of birth.
